As the computer technology is developing rapidly, people have higher and higher demand on terminal devices in work and in daily life. Now, people are attaching more and more importance onto SSD.
Compared with HDD, SSD has more performance advantages. For example, it reads and writes data quickly; it has shock resistance; the physical size is small and it is hard to make noise. Prior to 2010, HDD took up a majority of the hard drive market because it had high capacity and high cost effective performance. But it is limited by the spin speed and the storage per disk. Besides, there is not any breakthrough technology of SSD, so it cannot lead the hard disk market any more with the emergence of SSD
With the development of 3D NAND technology, the flash memory suppliers, led by Samsung, have upgraded from 2D to 3D NAND. The storage per disk is being developed much more. When more and more creative technologies are placed into SSD and well quality storage media is used, the cost of SSD has been decreased greatly. In the era of SSD, Samsung stands on the absolutely top position in the SSD market. From the traditional SATA SSD to the M.2 NVMe SSD, Samsung releases the high-quality products, gaining good reputation on the public. As the NAND technology is being continuously upgraded, the Samsung’s advantage of storage media can be utilized better. Samsung is the only supplier that can manufacture all SSD components. Samsung ensures that the heat dissipation of SSD can reach to the well status. When the SSD works at the high temperature, it still performance stably. Therefore, the Samsung SSD is reliable and durable.
Do you want to change a Samsung SSD after learning about the above content? In the followings, we will talk about how to clone the hard disk data to the Samsung SSD.
Renee Becca is the software specializing in backing up and recovering operating system/hard disk. It can help users back up and recover the important information, such as programs, system configurations, emails, photos, videos, document and bookmarks. Besides, you can clone disk and system. Three clone modes are offered, namely hard disk clone/system disk clone, partition clone and system redeploy.
Hard disk clone/system disk clone: Copy everything from the source hard disk to the target one.
Partition clone: Copy everything from the source partition to the target one.
System redeploy: Redeploy your system to another hard disk.
If you want to use the Samsung SSD as the system disk, you can clone the system to the SSD. That saves lots of time. Next, we will show you how to clone the system to the Samsung SSD.
Step 1: Open Renee Becca. Then, select [ Clone ] – [ System Redeploy ].
Step 2: In the following window, select the target Samsung SSD under [ Destination ] and then click on [ Redeploy ] to clone the system. The 100% progress bar means the successful system transfer. It is noted that the target SSD capacity should be larger than the source SSD. Besides, the original data of the target SSD will be emptied. Please back up the data beforehand.
Step 3: As it is finished, click on [ OK ]. After that, set the boot order as the Samsung SSD in BIOS/UEFI. If you don’t know how to change the boot order, please read this article . If the computer cannot get started from the new SSD, you should turn off the computer and then remove the old disk.
Tips More tips about how to improve the SSD performance are in this article .
It is very convenient to clone the data from the old disk to the new Samsung SSD. Here are the steps.
Step 1: Replace the hard disk with the new Samsung SSD. Then, open Renee Becca. Select [ Clone ] – [ Hard Disk Clone/Clone System Disk ]. You can use the external enclosure and the data reader to connect the SSD to the computer when the SSD is not installed in the computer.
Step 2: Next, select the source disk and the destination disk. Drag to adjust the size of each partition. If you clone the system disk, you can check the option [ Make target disk bootable (System disk only) ]. Finally, click on [ Clone ] to clone the data to the Samsung SSD.
